Lieutenant
Governor Timothy P. Murray Tours 6th
Worcester District with Rep. Geraldo Alicea
Lieutenant
Governor Timothy P. Murray travels to
southern Worcester County on Friday to join
Representative Geraldo Alicea (D-Charlton)
discussing economic development in Charlton,
and joining local officials to discuss the
Southbridge Armory.
“It is a
privilege and an honor to have the
Lieutenant Governor visiting Southern
Worcester County on Friday,” Rep. Alicea
stated. “I have promised the people of the
6th Worcester District that I would bring
prominent state officials to Central
Massachusetts to learn more about the issues
and concerns that face our area.”
The afternoon
will begin with a tour of the Millennium
Power Plant in Charlton. It will be followed
by an event at the Southbridge Armory
featuring a discussion of the youth social
services programs currently being run out of
the armory.
"I look
forward to visiting with Representative
Alicea and touring his district."
stated Lt. Governor Murray. "I also
look forward to sitting down with local
business and elected leaders, to discuss the
challenges that Southern Worcester County is
facing, and the state’s role in addressing
these concerns. Central Massachusetts is a
very special area for me, and as Lieutenant
Governor I want to do all I can to help the
towns and cities in Worcester County. This
is my first official visit back to the area
as Lieutenant Governor, but it certainly
will not be my last."
